Review by hotel critic
My recent stay at Hotel Luna Convento was a captivating blend of history and luxury, nestled within an 800-year-old converted monastery. the warm welcome from the staff, like Giuseppe at the pool, made our retreat even more memorable. I indulged in the local flavors offered in the sea-view restaurants, a true feast for both the palate and the eyes. the serene ambiance, adorned with Mediterranean-style decor, offered a peaceful escape from the bustling world. The hotel's preservation of the monastery's original architecture, including the ancient courtyard and the Saracen Tower, provided a unique backdrop for our Italian getaway. the panoramic sea views from the room, coupled with a bottle of bubbles waiting for us, added a touch of romance to the experience. the stunning cliffside pool and private access to the sea ensured moments of pure relaxation, listening to the waves and basking in the sun. As an art historian, the rich cultural heritage of the Amalfi Coast was beautifully intertwined with the hotel's ambiance, from the ceramic flooring to the painted ceiling murals. the proximity to Amalfi town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, allowed for easy exploration of its historical monuments and natural beauty. Overall, Hotel Luna Convento surpassed expectations, offering a perfect blend of luxury, history, and indulgence. It's a true gem on the Amalfi Coast, ideal for those seeking a peaceful and refined retreat.
